Always in Fashion...
Fashion is an English group formed in 1978 in Birmingham by John Mulligan, Dik Davis and Al ‘Luke Sky’ James. Group that will see the subsequent arrival of Dee Harris, Alan Darby and Marlon Recchi.
The first album "Product Perfect" was released in 1979 on a fairly punk, post-punk-oriented basis. Success will be primarily esteem.
Faced with this lack of success, the group was partially reworked in 1982, the sound changed and the result was not long in coming. The album "Fabrique" which came out the same year was a real success and saw the group finally rewarded for their efforts. A first time with the title “Streetplayer (Mechanik)”, a single which has enjoyed great success across the Channel. And to a lesser extent with “Love shadow”.
The band returned to success two years later in 1984 when the album "Twilight of Idols" was released. Less success than the previous album, but success nonetheless. Mainly thanks to the single “Eye talk” which will have a nice run in the Charts.
Last notable success for the group which will release other titles thereafter. Quality titles but which will never be able to compete with their predecessors.
To discover or rediscover.

1978 ... very 'late 70's beginnings. A mix of ska, punk, which produces an interesting track but it is obvious that there is still work ...
1979 ... the sound evolves a bit but it is obvious that the group is looking for its style. We will have to be a little more patient ...
1980 ... the change of decade will not bring a major turning point in the destiny of the group. It's nice but nothing more ...
1981 ... the click took place and the sound evolution of the group is obvious. A sound much more in line with its time and the English standards of the moment
1982 ... the year of takeoff. After several years spent looking for each other, the group finally seems to have found the style that suits him. A rise that will quickly bear fruit ...
1982 ... efforts paid off and the group finally recorded its first major success. They just lacked the little + to make the difference. It is now done...
1982 ... a BIG year 1982 with 2 hits in quick succession. Inspired pieces, a particularly effective style. The keys to success !
1982 ... and it continues, and it continues, and it continues. A particularly prolific year which produced an impressive number of top-caliber titles
1984 ... small air gap in 1983 and come back in force the following year in 1984 with this title which will remain as one of their most emblematic. The group is then at the height of its possibilities !
1984 ... even if this title will not have the same level of success as its predecessor, it is clear that the group continues on a particularly positive dynamic ...
1984 ... a song which literally floats in the air to finish and which shows an astonishing versatility on the part of this group with a style however quite typical and quite far from the Intimist sphere. MA-GIC !
