Erik - Tommy - Nilsson is a Swedish singer-songwriter who started his artistic career in a metal group called 'Horizont' at the end of the 70s. A group with which he will release two albums, two albums of fairly limited success.
It was the French producer Yves Accary who spotted him and signed him to a French label at the start of the 1980s, a label that allowed the singer to release a first solo Single "No way no how" in 1981. Single that was going to make a real hit in France, just like the album of the same name which also came out the same year. Two major successes that will launch the singer's career for good.
Unfortunately, the great adventure came to an end the following year in 1982 with the failed release of the album "Tommy Nilsson". A failure from which the singer has difficulty recovering with the indirect consequence of a premature return to Sweden to continue his career.
Back in Sweden, he joined a new group called 'Easy Action', a group with which he was going to record an album. Unique album because the group will separate in stride.
He started solo again in 1989 and represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest that year with the title "En dag", a title which finished 4th in the competition.
During the 1990s, he had several major successes in Sweden with the titles "Öppna din dörr" in 1994 and "Dina färger var blå" in 1996. And a last notorious success in the decade 2000 with the Single "Amelia".
Which will not prevent him from continuing the adventure subsequently and producing titles of significant quality...

1981 ... a single title, THIS title, was enough to make this young unknown man pass from the shadows to the light in a shattering way. All on an Intimist track that will remain as one of the most emblematic of the decade. MA-GIC !

1987 ... a future that promises to be bright and yet will darken somewhat with a nice 5 years air gap followed by a retreat to his native lands. Mighty reversal of the situation ...
1987 ... an industrial accident which will not prevent him from continuing the adventure but an adventure now located only in the Scandinavian sphere. It's always better than nothing as they say ...
1988 ... a know-how in the Intimist which will have brought him several of his most beautiful titles. Too bad the recognition is very limited now ...
1988 ... a year 1988 resolutely oriented register 'with emotions'. In this register there, we are always takers so why bother. We are benefitting !
1989 ... here he is trying his hand at the great Eurovision Song Contest. Why not you tell me. With a very honorable 4th place in the end, it was worth trying the adventure, right ?
1989 ... yet another nice track full of finesse and moreover in a shocking duo mode, above all with charm, which does not spoil anything. We take, we take !
1990 ... the beginning of the 90s which rhymes with certain acceleration of the tempo. A good job once again but that will not be enough to put him back in the saddle at the international level ...
1990 ... and yet it really wouldn't have missed much to see him come back in contact with the best. But his withdrawal to Sweden hardly helped him at this level ...
1991 ... anyway, that does not prevent him from continuing his adventure for whatever reason. And given what he continues to produce, it would be wrong to embarrass himself !
1994 ... another nice title of which he has the secret. Title which will know a course of the most honorable in the Charts of the Scandinavian sphere. He is therefore right to continue to believe in it ...
1995 ... even if the successes are becoming increasingly rare as time passes, the quality level remains more or less constant. For how long, that's another question ...
1999 ... here he is at the gates of the 2000s and he does not want to let go at first sight. A desire to move forward which necessarily commands respect !
2001 ... 20 years after his debut, the guy still here ! Certainly the best years are behind but he still has some under the pedal, it is clear ...
2002 ... a duo that works very well on this title all in finesse and lightness. Nothing exceptional but a good job, quite simply ...
2005 ... another nice title that literally floats in the air. The years go by, the decades go by, but his talent in the 'emotional' register is not aging !
2007 ... and it continues ! Nothing and no one seems to be able to stop him at this point. There is therefore a good chance that it will still be found later ...
2016 ... well, 9 years will elapse between this title and the previous title but here he is again. Unstoppable the boy !
2016 ... the circle seems finally closed but with him, nothing is impossible, that's for sure. See you in a few years ...?
