Kova Rea is a French singer of Martinican origin who started his artistic career at the very beginning of the 80s by appearing in small roles in the cinema in films like "Les uns et les autres" and others "Moi y'en a vouloir des sous” by Jean Yanne.
A multi-talented artist, he also became magazine leader at the Paradis Latin from 1980 to 1985 as well as at Bobino.
At the same time, he joined the group African Magic Combo in 1982 and then played backing vocals for Bernard Lavilliers from 1985.
It was in 1988 that his solo career suddenly exploded when he released his first album "Les Festivités" from which the flagship Single "Nuit d'amour" was to be issued. Single that will propel him overnight on the front of the stage. And which will remain as his main success.
He released a second album "Pas de limites" in 1990 but it did not produce any major hits.
