One Way is an American band originally formed in 1976 as 'Al Hudson & The Soul Partners' and composed at the time of Al Hudson, Dave Robertson and Kevin McCord.
Group which released a first album "Especially for you" the same year, album which will go somewhat unnoticed but which will allow the group to win a first title with the Single "I got a notion".
The following two albums, "Cherish" in 1977 and "Spreading love" in 1978, did not do better on the Charts but at least allowed the group to get people talking about him at least.
It is the arrival of Alicia Myers in the group which will give a new impetus to the latter and allow them to win the biggest success of all their Singles discography with the title "You can do it" in 1979. Single which will make a real worldwide hit and explode their notoriety internationally.
They would also achieve their first success on the albums side with the release of "One way featuring Al Hudson" the same year. Album from which will be extracted the Singles of great caliber "Do your thang", "Pop it" and "Something in the past" the following year in 1980.
A year 1980 which saw the release of another Single and not the least since the title "Music" will stay in history as their second biggest success.
The year 1981 will see the departure of Alicia Myers and the arrival of Candyce Edwards, a new singer who will remain until 1985. Singer who will be found on all the group's successful albums, namely "Francy dancer" in 1981 , "Who's foolin' who" and "Wild night" in 1982, "Shine on me" in 1983 and especially the enormous "Lady" in 1984.
After his departure, it will be Jeanette Mack-Jackson's turn to take up the torch.
Other albums will be released later but will not be able to match those released previously.
