Kings of nothing...

Big Pig is an Australian band formed in 1985 in London originally composed of Oleh Witer, Sherine, Tony Antoniades, Neil Baker, Nick Disbray, Tim Rosewarne, Adrian Scaglione.

The group released their first single "Hungry Town" in 1986, which was to be highly regarded in Australia. Followed a year later in 1987 by the single "Money god", a single which will go somewhat unnoticed. "Boy wonder", which was also released in 1987, will experience a much more favorable fate.

Regardless, the band made a name for itself and managed to sign with a label worthy of the name, Mushroom records.

Label which allows them to release their first album "Bonk" in 1988, album which will know a nice course not only in the Australian Charts but also American. Album from which will be extracted their biggest single discographic success with the title "Breakaway" which will be released the same year.

New album "You lucky people" in 1990, album which will not really know the same level of success as its predecessor. But who will still produce their last hit the same year with the title "Justify". A last hit which did not prevent the group from breaking up a year later in 1991.

To discover or rediscover.

Clips :

1986 ... very punchy beginnings. The least we can say is that the group wants some and that they certainly do not intend to stop there ...

1987 ... in the same vein. We can feel the extreme motivation of the group, but he will have to really slow down all the same ...

1987 ... fortunately things calm down a bit. There really isn't much missing from this group to do great things. Let's give them a little more time ...

1988 ... you just had to be a little patient. Here comes THE title that will change everything, a title perfectly mastered, both in terms of style and sound. With the biggest success of all their discography. HU-GE !

1988 ... a nice sequel but which will not be able to compete with the enormous previous title. It is clear that it will be extremely hard for the band to repeat the feat achieved on 'Breakaway' ...

1990 ... and it is not the passage to the following decade which will make it possible to permanently raise the level of the game. Good will is obvious but unfortunately this is not always enough to move mountains. End of the adventure ...
